Editorial Policy

At this blog, my goal is to provide honest, thoughtful, and useful content focused on mental health, wellness, identity, and personal growth. I want readers to trust what they find here, not because I claim to know everything, but because I take integrity and responsibility seriously.

This editorial policy explains how I approach content creation, fact-checking, and the overall standards I hold myself to as a solo writer and editor.

1. Content, Purpose, and Focus

Everything published here is created to inform, support, and start meaningful conversations. Topics are centered around:

  • Mental health awareness
  • Emotional well-being and resilience
  • Community and identity
  • Stress, burnout, and self-care
  • Navigating personal challenges

This blog is not a replacement for professional help. It exists to complement personal growth and encourage readers to explore mental health in safe, constructive ways.

2. Accuracy and Sourcing

I strive to make sure everything I publish is accurate, responsible, and up-to-date.

  • I consult reputable sources (such as peer-reviewed research, expert commentary, and respected health organizations).
  • When referencing data, studies, or expert opinions, I aim to link to sources where possible.
  • Personal insights are framed as such, and I don’t present opinions as fact.

If I ever quote a mental health professional or cite a statistic, I will clearly label and link to that information within the article.

3. Tone and Language

My voice is personal, direct, and empathetic. I avoid jargon unless it’s necessary and always define terms that may be unfamiliar to readers.

I write for real people, not academics, so clarity and kindness come first.

I will never use shame-based or fear-based messaging to motivate readers. This is a supportive space, not a lecture hall.

4. Content Updates and Corrections

If a piece of content becomes outdated or contains an error, I will update it promptly.

  • Minor edits (spelling, grammar, formatting) may be made without announcement.
  • If I correct a factual error or significant misstatement, I will include a note within the post clarifying what was changed and why.

Readers are always welcome to reach out if they notice something inaccurate or misleading. I appreciate constructive feedback and aim to respond respectfully.

5. AI and Automation Disclosure

Some content (such as outlines or summaries) may be supported by AI tools for efficiency, but all final content is personally reviewed, edited, and published by me. No AI-generated content is published without human oversight.

6. External Links and Recommendations

I sometimes link to third-party articles, books, or tools I genuinely believe could benefit readers. These are not sponsored unless clearly labeled.

If I ever participate in affiliate programs or publish sponsored content, it will be transparently disclosed at the top of the article. Integrity matters more to me than short-term gains.

7. Guest Content and Contributions

Currently, all content is written by me (Henry Willson). If I feature guest posts or interviews in the future, contributors will be:

  • Properly credited
  • Selected for their lived experience or subject-matter knowledge
  • Expected to follow the same standards of accuracy and respect

I will never publish ghostwritten, spammy, or AI-generated submissions under someone else’s name.

8. Community Guidelines

This blog encourages comments, messages, and respectful dialogue. However:

  • Hate speech, trolling, and harassment will not be tolerated.
  • Disagreements are welcome, but disrespect is not.

I moderate all public feedback in line with these values.
